  1. Buying the Rupert Bear album for my son, my husband loved these books as a child and when our son was born we started buying them for him, he’s 44 now but I still buy it, wouldn’t be Christmas without it.

  2. We have the tradition of having a paper fight after the presents are opened, the paper gets balled up and its like throwing snow balls, there are normally at least 12 of us and it started well before I was born 35 years ago.

  3. My Granny left one present for each child from the boxing day fairy , as she felt it was a bit boring for the children on the day after Christmas presents! I have continued this and have always tried to find locally crafted gifts which I love finding at craft fairs before Christmas.

  4. Decorating the tree! We have a very quirky collection of decorations from things my children made, glass baubles that were my grandmas, as well as flamingos, manatees, camels and many other animals! This year I’m hoping to add a handmade decoration from my grandaughter

    1. Hi Beccy, Thank you for your comment – such a fantastic way of making your tree completely unique and I love the different animals you have on it! Thanks for entering and good luck!

  5. Decorating our real Christmas tree using baubles that we have had since I was a girl. Every year it was my special job to decorate the Christmas tree. I always made sure that baubles and tinsel were spread around evenly. Now that I am a parent my sons help me to decorate our tree. They are proud to hang the cute decorations that they made at school and we all stand back to admire our handiwork. It’s a lovely job to do together and when the tree is finished, we all know that Christmas will be coming very soon.

  6. I have two favourite traditions, the first is going to buy the real christmas tree, we used to measure the height of the tree against my son to see if he could reach to put the fairy on the top (now he’s 17 and over 6 foot I don’t think that will be a problem!). My other favourite thing is a Christmas Eve curry with family friends ( and a fair but of mulled wine of course!)
