Our Picks….Summer Fabrics

Summer is just around the corner and now’s the perfect time to start sewing your dresses, shirts, skirts and trousers for the season!

With this in mind, we’ve picked our favourite fabrics which are perfect for staying comfortable but stylish in warmer weather.

Liberty

First up we have Liberty tana lawn. This Poppy & Daisy design features beautiful shades of blue, green and coral and is made using 100% pure cotton with no chemicals or allergens. A classic print with timeless appeal.

BrightLawn

Staying with cotton lawn, we love the bold and bright print of this material. It would look amazing made up as any garment and feels soft to the touch.

LeafBatikElephantBatik

Batiks are perfect for the season and look fantastic made up as maxi dresses or skirts. The vibrant blend of colours work wonderfully with the exotic designs and they are made from pure cotton – essential for helping to stay cool in the sunshine.

LargeGinghamMedGingham

Gingham is another classic and works so well when made up as a 50’s style day dress or skirt.

Seersucker

Seersucker is perfect for little ones and we love the anchor design. This slightly puckered striped fabric is lightweight and comfortable and is ideal for making shirts, shorts or dresses.

Linen

Last but not least there is the understated but enduring linen! It will help to keep you cool in high temperatures and creates simple, elegant clothing for men and women.

For more choice, it’s well worth visiting our stores and speaking to one the specialists there for advice on the best fabric for your summer outfit!
